Training Programme Overview
We all love our yoga but maybe you’ve reached a point where you want to learn more… whether that be more philosophy, anatomy or assisting - yoga teacher training will give you all that and more! The programme will be highly experiential, involving lots of practical experience and guidance to become an inspirational teacher. We’ll invite you to step into your full potential and discover how you can teach and live your yogic life authentically. Learn how yogic philosophy, energetic anatomy, meditation and other tools can be applied to modern life. Train amongst a thriving yoga studio community of dedicated teachers and students, whilst building your own network of fellow teachers-to-be.

Q. Am I good enough at yoga?
You will need to have a good regular practice but you don’t need to be able to do all the asanas! Depending on your background, a year is usually cited as the minimum amount of time you should have been doing yoga before starting teacher training. However, many students practice yoga for a lot longer than that before deciding to commit to teacher training.
Q. Am I ready? 
The programme will challenge you - body, mind and spirit but the most important qualities of a good yoga teacher trainee are to be yourself, and to be warm and welcoming. A good teacher trainee will also practice humility and be open to learning from their teachers, their fellow students and of course, themselves.
Q. How will I fit it in with all my other commitments?
We get it, you need to be responsible for your existing commitments. The intensive 6-week programme has been designed to fit around your family, your work and your personal life with breaks in between so you can integrate your learnings into your lifestyle. A perk of undergoing the 200hr where you live (as opposed to travelling to India!) is that there is genuine integration of learnings with lifestyle. The time away from class in between teachings to live a normal life can help to digest and assimilate.
Q. How do I connect with like-minded people?
One of the great benefits of choosing a YTT in your area is the deep connections you’ll make with the small group of teacher trainees you will be a part of, which can be such a paramount factor to you getting the most out of the experience.
Q. How can I advance my practice in all areas? 
Maybe you have no intention of teaching, you just want this training for your own personal practice. That’s fine! You will practice like you’ve never practised before, with expert guidance from world renowned teachers you will learn so much. As you continue your journey, a teaching will suddenly land as an ‘aha’ moment. It’s so invaluable in this way, giving you a huge toolkit to use independently and indefinitely. 
Q. Why do we practice in a hot room?
In our studio the temperature is between 28-32°C based on Power Yoga practice. This style of yoga developed by Baron Baptiste means that you sweat more, release toxins and build bone density. Also your muscles are more flexible due to the warmth which reduces the chance of injury.
Q. Could this course help me personally?
Maybe you’re stressed all the time, your relationships are suffering or you’re just in need of a turnaround. Whatever you’re doing just isn’t working. This type of basic human life training can be so transformative for everyone. 
Q. What if I’m a bit scared of becoming a teacher?
Well, our biggest growth happens just outside our comfort zone. What better situation is there to apply what you’ve learned, challenge yourself, and flourish than doing something scary? Even if teaching isn’t your eventual goal, it’s a great exercise to learn for yourself. Maybe yoga has already helped you in other ways, just know that there’s plenty more where that came from. You don’t have to have a clear picture of your outcome, but you just know that it will benefit you beyond what you can imagine.
Q. How could I teach yoga afterwards?
Yoga teachers usually need to have three things in place before applying for jobs as a yoga teacher. These are: training, accreditation and insurance. Although there are many yoga teachers in the world, there is only one of you, and you will connect to your students in a way that is different to every other yoga teacher. Every yoga teacher should know how to keep themselves and their students safe. As a yoga teacher you are responsible for your students safety, although you should also teach them to be present in their own bodies and not push themselves past discomfort and into pain. Some TT programmes only offer the experience of teaching fellow trainees, which is a limiting in terms of student diversity. We offer the chance to teach real members of the community which accelerates learning exponentially.
Q. What else could I do after YTT?
What you do after you complete your YTT is up to you! There is no one path that newly graduated yoga teachers take. Some graduates decide not to teach yoga themselves, but continue being students, albeit with a much deeper knowledge of yoga. Many newly qualified yoga teachers try to rack up as many teaching hours as possible to increase their experience by signing up to cover yoga classes. This is a great way to get teaching experience without the responsibility of taking on a permanent class.  What you do after YTT is as individual as you are yourself. Some yoga teachers might feel they want to specialise in a certain area, so may go back into studying before starting to teach classes. There is also a chance to join our Teaching Team or our Mentorship Programme which offers post-graduate guidance and support after the programme is completed.

COVID protocols 24 February 22
If you feel unwell but do not have COVID symptoms or your test is negative, you are no longer legally required to self-isolate but may still have an illness which could be passed on to other people. Staying at home until you feel better reduces the risk that you will pass on an illness to your friends, colleagues and others in our community.
We will continue to display our NHS QR code which people can use to check in if they wish to. Whilst there is no legal requirement to wear a face covering, you may continue to wear one whilst moving around the studio. These are personal choices which can help reduce your risk of catching or spreading COVID-19. It is important to consider that others may wish to take a more cautious approach. We should all be considerate of this and provide the opportunity and space for others to reduce close contacts as they wish.
Please wash your hands or use hand sanitiser. The skylight will be open continuously for air circulation.
Teachers may chant / OM or practice pranayama and can offer Hands On assists - with your permission. If not required, please place a “No Assists” sticker on mat. At the end of class all doors and windows to let in fresh air .

How To Practice Flower Gazing Meditation: trataka
I noticed these little flowers coming up in Goose Green whilst out walking the dog.
MEDITATION TO RELIEVE ANXIETY, LIFT A LOW MOOD AND RESTORE BALANCE & CONNECTION
Flower Gazing Meditation
Allow your gaze to fall on one flower. If you don’t have any flowers nearby, this picture is fine. Place yourself about a foot away, and feel conscious of your body’s contact with the ground. Connect with the earth and the sunshine that grew the flower sitting before you. Gaze at it with soft, relaxed eyes. Blink normally, smile softly and relax your facial muscles. Look at it as if it’s the first time you’ve ever seen a flower. Discover what it reeeeeally looks like. Avoid labelling what you’re looking at; instead of focusing on “petals” or “pollen”, see the unique shapes, colours, textures and notice any scents in front of you. Feel its vibrant life energy. When thoughts come up, notice them, and gently redirect your attention to the flower in front of you, neither pushing them away nor indulging them. You can meditate for a couple of minutes or as long as you like. Close your eyes for a minute or so. See if you can still see its image in your mind or feel its presence in front of you. Continue with the rest of your day and see if you feel calmer, more relaxed, and your attention is clearer. If you start practicing this regularly, you just might start noticing the specific details and beauty not just in flowers, but in every common object you come across.

Love influences all aspects of human existence
When we feel love, we are truly connecting with our authentic Self.
Love is powerful medicine. Self-love is the most important love we can invite into our lives. If we care for and love ourselves, then we are able to share love with others. Healthy relationships can even protect against disease and restore the body in the face of illness. A regular yoga practice (twice a week) can help to heal your mind and spirit, whilst improving strength throughout your body and help you to love yourself and those around you. Yoga is still considered (after 5,000 years!) one of the most powerful forms of exercise, self-healing and mindfulness around today.
