Hygiene and safety measures

If you feel unwell please do not come to practice at the studio.

Temporary measures we have in place to keep you safe
✔ Contact-free access
✔ More space between mats (maximum 6 students)
✔ Windows, door and skylight will remain open during practice for good air-flow
✔ Studio cleaned after every session

Please bring your own yoga mat, a bottle of water and arrive dressed ready for yoga. The front door will be opened 15mins before class and propped open to make access contact-free. They'll be a socially distanced queuing system in the corridor so please be patient and mindful of yourself and others' safety. We would like to encourage wearing masks when arriving and moving around the studio.

Hand sanitiser should be used upon entry to the studio. There are markings on the floor to indicate where your mat should be placed and your personal things kept. There will be no communal hanging pegs, yoga mats, props. Tea, water and WC/showers will only be available for staff (except in an emergency). Teachers will remain on their mat during class. No assists. Face masks can be removed and placed on your mat during practice.

At the end of the class, students will be asked to remain on their mats whilst the teacher opens the studio exit doors. Students will then leave the studio one at a time via the front door corridor. There will be more time between classes to avoid congestion. The studio will be cleaned and sterilised every day with deep cleaning twice a week.

We have been working hard on new safety and hygiene measures to ensure the wellbeing of students and SO look forward to welcoming you back. The re-opening will be in staggered phases over the next few weeks, with Studio Classes available to members only initially then including pass holders by the end of the month.

FROM Mon 24 Aug - 6 & 12 Class Passes will be valid for Studio 54 classes

STUDIO CLASSES
Initially the studio will be open to Members Only with a restricted capacity of 6 students, appropriately distanced. New safety and hygiene protocols and requirements to practice will be available on the website before reopening and include contact free and distanced entry and exit, facemask use, sanitisation points and studio ventilation.

Change is inevitable

With our movement and personal contact severely limited over the last few months, we've undoubtedly been presented with some really tough challenges but change is inevitable and a necessary part of life. Our lives are fuelled by change (although most of us yearn for stability) and if you can learn to accept change as helpful rather than something to be avoided, you may experience less stress. Being open to changes in life can actually help us to move forward in a new direction, become better people and make us look at ourselves and our lives differently, ultimately bringing us more satisfaction, more fulfilment and more joy.

STUDIO 54
The studio remains closed but we have been busy rethinking the space to make it ready for reopening as soon as it's safe and advisable to do so. We're repainting, refiguring and generally giving the whole place a lot of love! Members will have priority in reduced capacity classes once the studio reopens.

OUTDOOR YOGA CLASSES
We're currently looking at adding outdoor classes to the timetable in June. These classes will be once or twice a week on Peckham Rye Common. As it will be weather dependent, make sure you follow @hotyogapeckham on Instagram or Twitter for updates.

1 MONTH MEMBERSHIP (£54)
Now is the time to consider upgrading to a 1 Month Membership which will give you unlimited access to online classes and workshops but will also become exchangeable for outdoor and studio classes when we return to a 'new normal'.

CORPORATE YOGA
Introduce yoga to your virtual workplace and help to keep your colleagues connected, healthy and energised. Group yoga sessions with Stevie are streamed live online, increasing wellbeing and productivity.
"Stevie is brilliant - really clear, really friendly, good at explaining things enough for beginners like me.”  "I do genuinely feel more relaxed and ready to work having done yoga... good for stress levels!"

FABULOUS FORREST WORKSHOP Sat 25th Apr 2-4pm

We can’t wait for this Forrest Yoga workshop! With a focus on unwinding tension in neck and shoulders, softening muscles around chest and hip areas, this workshop will be fun yet challenging. Core strengthening work and abdominal exercises are designed to create heat, relieve back pain and help move stuck energy. This, along with the longer holds in poses will let you actually feel what is happening in the body rather than blocking it out.

Studio 54 continuing classes

We are closely following the government and NHS guidelines regarding COVID-19 in order to ensure that the studio remains a safe and welcoming place.

It is important to stay calm, and as we're all aware the practice of yoga is extremely helpful in keeping us present, grounded and strong. At this stage, we need plenty of sleep, good hydration, a nutritious diet and a healthy lifestyle in order to strengthen our immune system and fight infection.

If you have any symptoms of a cold, cough, fever or generally feel unwell please DO NOT come to class.

It is essential that we all continue to wash our hands thoroughly before entering the studio, use a yoga towel or hand towel on our mat for practice, use tissues and are mindful of personal space and social distancing.

In order to protect the health of our teachers, students, families and community, we are now introducing some further precautionary measures at the studio.

* Reduced number of classes on timetable
For the time being the studio timetable has been reduced with back to back classes temporarily suspended.

* Reduced class capacity
Class sizes will now be limited to 11 students plus the teacher.

* Staggered mats
Staggering spaces between mats will allow more personal space.

* LIVE STREAMING of classes
We're going to introduce LIVE STREAMING of some classes to allow you to practice in a group class at home with a LIVE teacher instructing and cueing. More details on the website and timetable.

These measures will be in place for the immediate future but as we are in a rapidly changing situation, guidance will be monitored and reviewed on a daily basis. There is the possibility that classes may need to be cancelled at short notice, so please make sure that you check your messages and the website for any updates.
